June 16, 2008

A guy walks into a bar and orders 6 shooters. The bartender says, “Looks like you are having a bad day.”
The guy says, “Am I ever! To start, I woke up late for work. On my way to work I got in an accident. When I got to work I was four hours late, so the boss fired me. Then to top everything off I came home to my wife screwing my best friend.”
The bartender says, “What did you say to your wife?”
The guy says, “I told her to get out, and I never want to see her again.”
The bartender says, “What did you say to your best friend?”
The guy says, “I said BAD DOG!”

WWE Smackdown Rewind: 6-16-08

June 16, 2008

CM Punk was squared off against MVP after Vickie Guererro asked him to do her and Edge a favor and handle Punk who has been threatening to cash in the money in the bank on the couples wedding night.  MVP got away with a quick one via dq when the referee mistakenly thought that punk knocked out MVP with the money in the bank brief case when it was really MVP looking to use it to his advantage.

Batista was given a duanting task of defeating The Great Khali or becoming banished like the Undertaker from the entire WWE forever.  One stipulation on the match in Batista’s favor was the clause that if he did somehow gain a victory he would become number one contender for the world title.  In the match Khali had an amazing control over the animal but after power out of Khali’s hand chop Batista some how was able to pull out a powerful spear knocking Khali to the mat and gained the one, two, three, thus becoming the number one contender.

Speaking of number one contenders it was announced that Chavo Guererro will be that for the United States championship against the fightingest champion Matt Hardy at the Night of Champions.  It looks to be a great match.  Matt also picked up a victory in a non-title match up on Friday.

Cherry finally got some much needed payback to Maryse scoring a victory over her in singles competition.  Some how I think that we are far from seeing this great boiling fued dying down.  Maybe Cherry has caught the eye of Vickie Guererro who is looking for people to fight for the first ever Divas championship.

One more thing to celebrate for Cherry would have to be the continued losing streak of Deuce and Domino.  The two had little compatibility in the ring while Festus and his partnet Jesse had just that.  The match was very insightful to the problems that the team has been having as of late, especially afterward when the two got into a brawl with each other.  Is this the end of team Deuce and Domino?  Maybe they needed Cherry afterall.

Lakers Pull Through At Home

June 16, 2008

It was a quick start for the Los Angeles Lakers moving to an early 19 point lead in the first quarter.  Bryant alone had 15 points in the quarter after four 3 pointers.  The second quarter saw the Celtics battling back bringing the score close by the end of the half.  The biggest play of the game came at the last few mintues when Kobe Bryant picked Paul Pierce (who had an impressive 37 points and 8 assists) and got a lob pass for an easy dunk pushing the game from a two point game into a four point game.

Allen and his crew tried hard to take the lead but with foul trouble plaguing him, Garnett and Pierce at this point it was tough for the Celtics to play the hard defense that they are known for.  Allen would eventually foul out before the end of the game much to the delight of the Laker fans who cheered MVP as Kobe Bryant sunk the final two nails in the coffen for a 103-98 game five victory.

Game 6 is Tuesday, 9 pm Est. @ Boston.  Expect the Celtics to squeeze through with a victory as history would suggest will happen.
