Raw Results: 7-01-08

Raw started out with good ol’ J.R. coming to the ring for his fairwell address to the Raw audience.  He was then shortly after interupted by Edge, Hawkins, and Rider.  Edge ordered Hawkins and Rider to escort J.R. out of the building and not to let him return.  Edge then went on to taunt the fans and make fun that they lacked a general manager, the Undertaker, and a world championship.  This prompted Batista.  Batista made short work of Edge leaving him in the middle of the ring knocked out.

Then something amazing happened “Mr. Money In The Bank” CM Punk came out and cashed in the briefcase (first time ever on Raw) and delivered the go to sleep on Edge to get the one, two, three.  CM Punk became the new world champion.  Punk would have too much time to celebrate though because not soon after he was challenged for the title by JBL which Punk accepted for the main event.  This ticked one John Cena off a bit so Cena threw his name in the hat.  But with no GM or McMahon Cena had nowhere to turn to make things happen.  So he went to the fans.

JBL took control of the situation though and had his personal security throw Cena out of the building.  CM would go on to later defeat JBL last night.

WWE News: Night of Champions

June 30, 2008

In a hard fought battle The Game HHH was able to successfully edge out Cena in his attempt to regain title gold.  Edge was also (with the help of Chavo as guest referee) able to get the job done with Batista.  This leaves Raw with no world title currently.

Kane was defeated in the triple threat match for ECW championship.  After a hard fought battl Mark Henry was able to get the pin and bring the gold back home to ECW.

Matt Hardy pulled out a victory over Chavo Guererro even with La Familia lurking around backstage.

Ted Debiase Jr. shock us all as he somehow got Cody Rhodes to betray Hardcore Holly and got him to join him as his partner for the tag team championship.  The team of Debiase and Rhodes proved to much for Hardcore and he lost the titles.

Chris Jericho was also shocked as the young, high flying Kofi took his belt away from him.  Announcing the new intercontinental champion Kofi Kingston.

Mickie James also retained her title against Lea Burchill proving that her reign is here to stay.

Smackdown Rewind: 6-30-08

June 30, 2008

Smackdown opened with HHH giving a little information about the condition of Vince Mcmahon.  Edge and Batista then joined him and not to soon after the three were wrestling.  Batista then speared Edge and took posession of the championship gold for the night.

Umaga in his first Smackdown match would face Batista in the main event.  The match never reached its conclusion though seeing as how Zack Rider, Chavo and Curt Hawkins interfered.  La familia then pumbled Batista until The Game came out and defended him.  Smackdown closed with Batista and HHH in the ring celebrating.

Kane had a victory over MVP which prompted Big Show and Mark Henry to make their presence felt.  The three would hold their battling until Sunday’s Noght of Champions however.

Jeff Hardy is set to make his debut to Smackdown next week so tune in.  For more Smackdown results go here: http://www.wwe.com/shows/smackdown/results/

Raw Results: 6-26-08

June 25, 2008

It was a special three hour edition of Monday Night Raw this Monday due to the draft.  Every superstar was in attendance as they didn’t quite know who would be drafted.  The evening started out with the drafting of CM Punk to Raw.  Jeff Hardy was drafted to Smackdown and then fought in a on the spot match up with his brother Matt against the tag team champions The Miz and Morrison.  Everything was going well for the Hardy Boys until Miz and Morrison began to cheat.  The match ended with “The Shaman of Sexy” grabbing Matt Hardy’s trunks and grabbing the one, two, three with them.  ECW was awarded their one and only draft pick-U.S. champion Matt Hardy.

ECW champion Kane was later drafted to Raw and the Big Show to Smackdown which is interesting because this ruins the hopes of the ECW title being on ECW for some time since the two are set to meet each other at Night of Champions.  Our guess is that Mark Henry will get his wish and actually win the title back to ECW.

The Divas were in action to determine whom among the announcers would be drafted.  The match ended abruptly when Victoria pushed Melina off of the turnbuckle and Melina appearantly sprained her ankle.  The referee decided both Smackdown and Raw would get a draft.  Jim Ross was draft to Smackdown breaking the legendary pairing with Jerry “The King” Lawler.  Michael Cole was then drafted to Raw.

John Cena secured another draft pick for Raw when he faced Edge who decided to give up on the match and be counted out.  Raw drafted “The Animal” Batista.  This is interesting because the World championship may end up on Raw now after Night of Champions.

Finally, the main event was a battle royal with fifteen members (5 per brand).  After a hard fought battle it came down to the Big Show (SD), John Cena (Raw), HHH (Raw), and Edge.  Cena and HHH worked together to finally get the Big Show out of the competition but then Cena betrayed Triple H and threw him over.  The refreshed Edge ever the opportunist then tossed Cena over winning two draft picks for Smackdown.  The first pick was Mrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Kennedy, Kennedy! and the second was the biggest of the night-”The Game” Triple H!

Mr. McMahon also continued his Million dollar giveaway this week.  One lucky fan won actually while at the show-$100,000 richer now.  And the luckiest of all was the $500,000 winner of the night that closed off Raw.

All in all this years draft was amazing.  For the first time in draft history announcers and champions switched brands.  We hope the WWE keeps this going for years to come.

“The Shaman of Sexy” John Morrison took on “Mr. Money In The Bank” CM Punk.  Even with The Miz ringside Morrison couldn’t get away from Punk’s patented go to sleep.  CM delivered it and walked away with the victory.  Miz then entered the ring and vowed that the dou will retain the tag team gold at Night of Champions this Sunday.

The GM gave Big Show and Kane an open forum to speak to one another revolving around their match Sunday.  Everything was going good, that is until Mark Henry interupted telling the two to save their strength.

Teddy Long gave Estrada (former GM) yet another chance to gain employment with ECW against Smackdown’s Hornswoggle.  In a hilarious match where in one point Horns threw a bucket of marble which tripped up Estrada ultimately with Finley’s help the tadpole splash was delivered as thus a victory for Hornswoggle.

Monday Night Raw Results: 6-17-08

June 17, 2008

It was a night to remember.  Vince McMahon gave away another million dollars of his own money to a number of lucky fans except one who missed his phone call, poor guy, lol.  The biggest amount was $300,000 representing the 3 hours of Raw next week for the draft and the smallest $16 representing Ric Flair’s (who was present which was a great surprise) 16 championships.  McMahon also vowed to give another million dollars away next week so get yourself registered at WWE.com now.

John Cena opened the night with a surprise match against Umaga.  The big man almost proved to much for Cena whose knees began to buckle when he firsst went for the F U.  There was some steal chair action (it was a street fight) and a little work outside including Umaga thowing his back into the steel ring post while trying to behead Cena.  This gave Cena the edge and one the second attempt of the F U Cena delivered and won the bout.

Not so much with a tough challenge was the man Cena will be meeting at Night of Champions.  HHH fought Chris Jericho looking to avenge his long time friend HBK (whose out do to injury and having reported eye troubles).  It was a pretty even match up until the end where HHH delivered some high knees and almost clasped in the pedigree but Jericho was savvy a blocked the attempt.  Then out of nowhere Cade came in and attacked Triple H and H won by DQ.  Not going to watch his opportunity at gold be injured Cena rushed out to aid him but the team of Cade and Jericho proved too much.  Raw ended with the two laying on the canvas.

Jeff Hardy and Carlito had an impressive match up.  Not too much to say other than Jeff was Jeff delivering all of his signature moves toward the end of the match and picked up the one, two, three.  I believe not too far off heavyweight gold is in Hardy’s feature.

WWE Smackdown Rewind: 6-16-08

June 16, 2008

CM Punk was squared off against MVP after Vickie Guererro asked him to do her and Edge a favor and handle Punk who has been threatening to cash in the money in the bank on the couples wedding night.  MVP got away with a quick one via dq when the referee mistakenly thought that punk knocked out MVP with the money in the bank brief case when it was really MVP looking to use it to his advantage.

Batista was given a duanting task of defeating The Great Khali or becoming banished like the Undertaker from the entire WWE forever.  One stipulation on the match in Batista’s favor was the clause that if he did somehow gain a victory he would become number one contender for the world title.  In the match Khali had an amazing control over the animal but after power out of Khali’s hand chop Batista some how was able to pull out a powerful spear knocking Khali to the mat and gained the one, two, three, thus becoming the number one contender.

Speaking of number one contenders it was announced that Chavo Guererro will be that for the United States championship against the fightingest champion Matt Hardy at the Night of Champions.  It looks to be a great match.  Matt also picked up a victory in a non-title match up on Friday.

Cherry finally got some much needed payback to Maryse scoring a victory over her in singles competition.  Some how I think that we are far from seeing this great boiling fued dying down.  Maybe Cherry has caught the eye of Vickie Guererro who is looking for people to fight for the first ever Divas championship.

One more thing to celebrate for Cherry would have to be the continued losing streak of Deuce and Domino.  The two had little compatibility in the ring while Festus and his partnet Jesse had just that.  The match was very insightful to the problems that the team has been having as of late, especially afterward when the two got into a brawl with each other.  Is this the end of team Deuce and Domino?  Maybe they needed Cherry afterall.

TNA Wrestling News: 6-13-08

June 13, 2008

Kurt Angle started it off by announcing that he would be putting a hit out on his soon to be ex-wife Karen Angle.  It’s real, it’s damn real.  He was seen later throughout the night with a number of different knockouts he was looking to contract.  Side note, Karen Angle now has a TNA knockout contract which is rumored to be more than most of the other knockouts which put the beautiful people in a not so great mood.

Gail Kim had a terrific win over one half of the beautiful people even with her knee injury.  She even got a little payback by putting their paper bag over her head as was done to her prior.

Big Kev and Samoa Joe got into a heat discussion following the events of Slammiversary when Kevin Nash helped Samoa retain the title gold.  Joe simply wanted to know why Kevin Nash interfered and after being pushed by Joe Nash said that it was because he felt Samoa Joe couldn’t beat Booker T.  That Booker T had gotten into his head so deeply that though he could physically beat him Joe could never beat Booker mentally.

Team Japan faced Team TNA represented by The Motor City…It was an impressive match, very fast pace.  In the end after a series of inovative tag team moves The Motor City gang pulled out the victory.  Quite a match folks.

In Divas news Victoria pulled off an impressive victory over Kelly Kelly after the referee called the match off when Victoria knocked Kelly out cold by throwing her off of the apron and onto the concrete floor.  No word yet as to who Smackdown GM will be placing for the title match but Victoria definately must have her name in the hat.

Teddy Long gave Estrada not one, not two, but three chances to once again gain a contract to ECW.  He lost all three matches.  Of the three the most memorable was the beating that Finley delivered to him, followed by Hornwaggle’s quick tadpole splash victory.

Lastly, Mark Henry and the Big Show had an exchange.  It seems that following the Night of Champions Henry wants to face Show for the ECW world title should Big Show beat world champion Kane.  Show told Henry, “If you keep campaigning for an ass whipping, you’re going to get elected”.

It was a pretty exciting show this week, especially following McMahon’s big Monday Night Raw Money Giveaway Sweepstakes.  Here’s the total results for this airing: http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/results/
